The expenditure for these benefits is financed from the Social Insurance Fund from the resources of:

• the sickness fund for sickness allowances, rehabilitation benefits, compensatory allowances, maternity allowances, care allowances.
• the accident fund for sickness allowances, rehabilitation benefits, compensatory allowances paid in respect of accidents at work and occupational diseases.
• the disability pension fund for funeral grants.

Short-term benefits are payable to persons insured who are covered by sickness or accident insurance on a compulsory or voluntary basis.
