Legal form
The type of legal existence assumed by national economy entities resulting from legal regulations defining the entities legal status and rules of their operation. In the REGON register, the legal form is defined explicitly by providing the basic and specific legal form.
The basic legal form defines whether the entity is:
- a legal person,
- an organisational unit without legal personality,
- a natural person conducting business activity.
The special legal form is used to determine whether the entity is classified inter alia to one of the following groups:
- government authorities, government administration,
- state control and law enforcement authorities,
- self-government communities,
- State Treasury,
- joint-stock companies,
- cooperatives,
- funds, etc.
